| So 25 came and went. The nice thing about having a birthday in June is that as the school year closes, it also signals the beginning of a personal new year. Some goals i thought of ( while proctoring the regents, haha):
- Money: now's probably a good time to get more serious about financial health and investing. I guess I should look into that IRA..?
- Investing in a hobby more seriously. playing with different ideas, but i want to do something that can take my mind off teaching (massage therapy? photography? writing?)
- exercise more. Michele just measured my body fat. no good.
- fast
2 weeks till my 'sabatical', i think im going to a koala sanctuary! Itinerary= Sydney, Brisbane, taipei, Nyc.
Some pics of some recent visitors to our new apt. "No yankee fans allowed!!" (i live with this wongwoman, i couldnt get her to leave, note to self, she's NOT a visitor)

The average New Yorker is pretty accustomed to star sightings. Today was finally my turn. Meeting some Newlife ladies at Max Brenner on Union Square today, I walk in expecting the usual crowd. It turned out to be not as busy as I expected, and as I looked for my friends a strangely familiar face came into view. Making the Band flashed in my mind, "Last Night" was ringing in my ears, and the one and only Sean Jean wearing PUFF DADDY (P.Diddy, Sean Puffy Combs, whatever other names he has) WALKS PAST ME AND SITS AT A CORNER TABLE!!!! So Im wringing my friend's hand at this point, I stood there gawking at him and his two sons, and of course, his very big bouncer. He was causally dressed, a Black Starter cap, white Tshirt, and shorts, still easily recognizable. The strangest thing was that nobody made a scene or even really acknowledged the celebrity. Despite my instincts to take out my camera phone and whatever random paper and pen I had for an autograph, I showed some restraint and did the respectable thing of letting the star have his privacy. After all, he was with his kids (i think they were his...) I was reminded of that implicit New York City rule of anonymity, you gotta know who the famous people are but still kinda pretend that they're not there. Seeing celebs should be as common as saying hi to your doorman. How strange. Care to share other star sighting stories? Is it just me, or does anyone else find it hard not to freak out when they see a celeb? I wondered if I should have asked for a picture with him.
Anyway, what a fun day. oh.. and does anyone wanna help me move on the 26th? I promise free pizza afterwards!
| What a fun filled weekend!
Friday/Sat- celebrating these MayBabies at Atlantic City (Chickadees, Jordan, Wongwoman, and JCME007) Not too much luck in the cards, but lots of funny looking people posing in funny looking pictures. Also a really yummy lunch, and girl time with Hosanna ladies- you guys rock!

These Chinatown experts introduced me to "Excellent Pork Chop House", it was pretty good!

BIKE TOUR 07 It was freezing cold in the morning and we were literally freezing our butts off on the Staten Island ferry. But with the SAG relief bus right behind us at one point, we were all pretty motivated to ride through most of Manhattan, touch on the Bronx, through LIC, and through the rest of Brooklyn with a party at the end in Staten Island. I have to say, i didnt think i would finish in one piece (the verrazano was killer) but i did! (yay!) Even though im a little sore today, it was definitely worth the pain to see the city come alive in such a fun way and join thousands of people in a bike ride.
Newlife ladies at the start. Loved the traffic free roads, didnt have to worry about angry taxi drivers! They had cheerleaders for us! I loved how strangers would honk horns, throw fists in the air, shout out encouragements.
Who's in for bike tour 08?! (if i can do it, anyone can!) more pics here.
BTW, i took my car to the shop and the mechanic knew my name!!! Its nice having a mechanic to call my own. I feel all grown up.
